They could look like the tree bark, or fallen leaves or even an old root ball.
The Wee Littles is a about a family of very small forest creatures living in a great big world. To enter the Wee Littles’ world, we need to get down low, on our bellies, to see things from their view. It’s a world where ferns and bushes tower over you like trees, and trees are like skyscrapers.
The heart of the Wee Littles is set within a family of four: there is a young girl named Bitsy, her little brother Itsy, their mother Mini, their father Teensy and their pet earthworm, Jeremy Throckmorton III. They’re shy and avoid being seen by us big folk.

Meet the Characters
Itsy & Bitsy
ITSY – He is Bitsy’s little brother and has a mind of his own but he looks up to his big sister. Itsy considers himself a big boy that can do whatever Bitsy can do. Itsy is fond riding on bark sleds, conker carts, and his balance bike. He really likes going out on adventures with his pet earthworm, Jeremy!
She is Itsy’s older sister and loves looking after him. She’s got her father Teensy’s curiosity towork with her hands and enjoys building things. Bitsy likes it best when her family are all together on one of their many outings or when her friends come to visit. Her best friend is a little girl Beaky Robin.
Mini & Teensy
MINI She’s the mom and the Wee Little’s main idea generator, usually drawing or writing down her designs. She always has her sketch pad and pencil ready to jot down whatever idea pops into her head. Mini’s enthusiasm for coming up with ideas is infectious as the children and Teensy join her, adding in their own ideas to come up with a solution.
TEENSY He’s the dad and a handy guy to have around because he just loves to build things. He’s not only handy with tools, but he’s also handy in the kitchen. Teensy loves bedtime because it’s a chance to make up a bedtime story and play a lullaby on his Bean-jo (like a banjo but made out of a bean!).
Jeremy Throckmorton III
He’s the Wee Little’s family pet earthworm. Though Jeremy doesn’t bark or meow, his head makes a ting-a-ling sound when he shakes it. He adores all the family but is especially fond of the children. If Mini or Teensy want to find him, he can always be found playing alongside Itsy or Bitsy, and digging lots of holes! He’s also got a good nose for sniffing out rotting apples.
Pop-Pops & Mumford T. Wellington
Pop-Pops is Itsy and Bitsy’s grandfather, and Mini’s dad. He lives not too far away from The Wee Littles in a place called “The Burren” with his pet earthworm Mumford T. Wellington.
Unlike Jeremy, Mumford is a serious earthworm and champion hole digger. When Pop-Pops and he ride their pedal motorcycle around, it’s Mumford’s job to make the engine sounds with his mouth. Vroom! Vroooom!
Beaky & Mr Robin
Beaky Robin is Bitsy best friend (her BFF). She’s a songbird that can’t hold a tune but she has a heart of gold. Beaky can always be counted on to join in on the fun.
Mr Robin is Beaky’s dad and Teensy’s friend, even though they sometimes have a friendly rivarly.

Writer/Director
Emma Hogan has written and/or directed for many children’s shows: Nelly & Nora, Tinpo, Peek Zoo, Inis Spraoi, and Brewster the Rooster. She is a 2021 Zebbie Award winner.
